Lalise Bultuma is a highly experienced Risk and Compliance Manager with over 12 years of leadership in Ethiopia’s microfinance sector, specializing in risk management, regulatory compliance, IFRS implementation, and policy development. She has a proven ability to align institutional operations with both National Bank of Ethiopia directives and global best practices, having successfully led the development and execution of comprehensive risk management frameworks, AML/CFT policies, and governance documents such as Board Audit and Risk Committee charters.
Lalise holds an MA in Development Studies and a BA in Cooperatives Accounting and Auditing, along with certifications in Risk Management, IFRS, and Corporate Governance. Currently pursuing an LL.B., she is deepening her legal expertise to further enhance her governance impact. A graduate of a Corporate Governance Training Program, she is deeply committed to strengthening board capacity, advancing gender diversity in leadership, and embedding ESG principles in financial institutions.
Her professional passion lies in connecting operational efficiency with strategic governance—particularly in the areas of climate finance, inclusive leadership, and sustainable financial inclusion.
